LEFKADA BEACHES
Lefkada is world renowned for its beautiful coastline and stunning beaches, particularly on the dramatic rugged western coastline, with famous beaches including Porto Katsiki, Egremni, Gailos, Milos, Pefkoulia and Kathisma, many of which are recognised as some of the best in Greece, if not the Mediterranean. Its turquoise clear waters can only be compared to those of a tropical paradise and its white pebble beaches go on for miles and miles…
The west coast of Lefkada is mostly untouched and is dominated by cliffs, populated by native pine forests and dramatic landscapes.
Amongst the most popular beaches on this coast are Porto Katsiski and Egrimni, to the south near Athani Village. Further north close by the fishing village of Agios Nikitas, you will find Perfoulia, Milos, and of course the famous Kathisma Beach. Kathisma beach is one of the most beautiful, popular and lively beaches during the peak summer months thanks to its easier access, and key amenities such as parking, tavernas, restaurants, cafes and beach bars. Closer to the Lefkada town one can find Ai Ioannis and Mili beach, a beautiful 5 km long beach and a destination for kite surfers!
Finally, the beaches along the eastern and southern coasts of Lefkada are a beautiful contrast to the West coast. Here you will find pretty white pebble bays with shallow calm crystal clear waters, and beautiful views across to the mainland and nearby islands. Popular well known beaches include Nikiana, Mikros Gialos, Agiofilli, and the famous sailing and windsurfing resort of Vassiliki.
